senior consultant dr david nicol

Senior Consultant on Educational Communities - Dr. David Nicol,
Dr David Nicol is Deputy Director of the Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Enhancement at the University of Strathclyde. He is also the Director of the REAP project (Re-engineering Assessment Practices), a £1m initiative funded by the Scottish Funding Council under its e-Learning Transformation Programme and involving three Scottish Universities (Strathclyde, Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian). David is a member of a number of influential bodies in the field of e-learning (e.g. Steering Group of the UK Heads of E-Learning Forum, the BECTA e-portfolio group, the ALT-C research committee, the Universities' Scotland, Educational Development Committee) and is involved in a number of international collaborations. His recent publications are on formative assessment including technology-supported assessment, digital libraries and shared workspaces in learning and on the use of electronic voting systems in the classroom.
